Tree plantation

‘He who plants a tree plants a hope.’ What better way to celebrate life than to give hope to another? SJCPL celebrated its founder Suhas Jangle’s 66th birthday with a tree plantation drive on ARAI hills.

The SJCPL family joined hands in planting close to 1000 trees that will help in keeping the green cover on the hills intact. The drive coincided with ‘Van Mahotsav’ which is an annual tree plantation festival celebrated across the country since 1950 and was conducted in collaboration with the Maharashtra Forest Department.

Over 300 employees came together for this activity that also helped to raise awareness about the rampantly depleting tree cover of the city.

We thank Maharashtra Forest Dept, Government of Maharashtra and Deputy Conservator of Forests (Territorial) Rangnath Naikade for his support, the student’s band Aradhya for lending their originally composed music to the drive and this video, and our team for their wholehearted and enthusiastic participation!

Felicitation for 10th and 12th

Exceptional results deserve felicitation! At SJCPL, we believe that education is the best way towards a bright future. So we decided to join in the celebrations when the children of our employees outshone their exams. The management at SJCPL held a function to appreciate the children for their hard work and outcome of excellence in their 10th and 12th exams. 15 children were felicitated for their exceptional results and presented with mementos. The children also heard inspirational speeches by senior managers and enjoyed snacks thereafter.

Featured Projects

  • Name of Project: KPIT Office Building
  • Client: KPIT Technologies Limited
  • Location: MIDC Phase III, Hinjewadi, Pune.
  • Size: 300,000 sq ft

This is is KPITs new greenfield campus spread across 28 acres in Hinjewadi.

The project was envisaged as an architectural marvel, with lots of form finish concrete walls, columns, and fins.

The execution of this project involved the use and application of various sophisticated shuttering and formwork technologies like Aero Decks from PERI, Birch-ply panels from DOKA and Geoplast panels for round columns. Building the form finish concrete façade walls was the biggest challenge in this project. Specially imported birch plywood was used to achieve the required architectural finish in concrete. We were able to achieve excellent finishing quality and as a result of the clients even decided to keep almost the entire structure in exposed concrete.

Another challenge was to effectively achieve the short completion deadline which required the use of system formwork from Peri & RMD, an on-site concrete plant of 30cum/hr and two tower cranes. The office building was completed in a period of 8 months and total completion including infrastructure in a period of 16 months.

SJ Contracts also had an opportunity for the first time to execute landscaping works for 15 acres of the project which included the use of unique materials, installations of precast seating areas, water bodies, concrete roads, bus parking, etc.

  • Name of Project: Vaccines Manufacturing Unit
  • Client: SEZ Biotech Services Pvt Ltd (Serum Institute of India)
  • Location: Manjari, Pune
  • Size: 1200,000 sq ft

Industrial projects are always featured worthy given the unique specifications of each project. The Serum project was no less. The total area of construction was 12 lac square feet which constituted three buildings of 30 meters height each. Each slab was at a height of 8 meters and had a load-bearing capacity of 2.5 metric tonnes per sq ft. Total concrete poured was 100000 cum and the total quantity of rebar was 9500 MT. Phase 1 works of 1200000 sqft were completed and handed over to the client in a period of 24 months.

We undertook a fair amount of R&D for devising and arriving at a method to execute this kind of construction in the safest and economical way. As a result, we were able to design and contractually manufacture a unique table formwork and scaffolding system to address the specific challenges. The overall application of technology with respect to formwork shuttering, concrete placing equipment has been tremendous at this project which has thus allowed us to considerably reduce the input of labor as well.
